Help Honour Harrison Payne’s Legacy – Have Your Say

The City of Moreton Bay is inviting community feedback on a proposal to rename the Ocean Beach Access Track at Woorim to The Harrison Payne Track — a tribute to our inspirational son who lost his life doing what he loved.

Harrison’s legacy lives on through the Harrison Payne Initiative Inc., a passionate campaign for off-road, beach, and road safety that continues to save lives. Renaming this track in his memory would ensure future generations know his story, see his impact, and understand the importance of safety in our shared spaces.

A history board sharing Harrison’s story will be installed alongside the new signage, reminding every visitor why his legacy matters.

The City of Moreton Bay will now seek public feedback on the action. Non-supportive submissions received over the 28-day consultation period (August 12th) will see the proposed action brought back to Council for reconsideration.

Public feedback can be made by emailing: council@moretonbay.qld.gov.au or via written submission to: PO Box 159, Caboolture QLD 4510.

Let’s unite to honour Harrison and support a legacy that protects and inspires.

The Harrison Payne Initiative is a Not-for-profit charity that aims to create change around Beach Safety, 4WD safety, and road safety whilst providing support for families who have experienced similar tragedies. We want to share our story at schools, beaches, online and in other spaces throughout the community to educate young people on the dangers of driving on the beach.  We want to share Harry’s story in a way that honours him and highlights the importance of driving responsibly and knowing when to speak up as a passenger.

We are fully registered with the Australian Government under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
