About the event

🌊 Official Opening – Harrison Payne 4WD Track

Honouring Harrison’s Legacy and Promoting Safer Adventures

On Sunday, 16 November 2025, the community will gather on Bribie Island for a truly special occasion — the official opening of the Harrison Payne 4WD Track.

Hosted by The Harrison Payne Initiative Inc. (THPI), in partnership with the GWM Tank 4WD Club of Queensland Inc. (GT4CQ) and the Moreton Bay Regional Council (MBRC), this milestone event celebrates Harrison’s legacy and our shared commitment to safer driving — on roads, beaches, and off-road trails across Queensland.

This day is not only about unveiling a new track name — it’s about carrying forward Harrison’s message of awareness, education, and respect for the environments we explore.

A Special Moment of Remembrance

As the event coincides with the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, The Australian Road Safety Foundation (ARSF) will join us in honouring all lives lost to road trauma.

In a touching tribute: 🌿 The ARSF will lay a wreath in memory of Harrison and all those lost on our roads.🌊 58 flowers will be released into the ocean, symbolising the 58 young Queenslanders over the past decade who lost their lives at age 18.💐 Community members will also have the opportunity to release a flower or petal into the water in remembrance of their own loved ones. (Only real flowers will be used to ensure no environmental impact.)

A Day of Connection, Awareness, and Legacy

The Harrison Payne 4WD Track stands as a lasting reminder of the importance of safe and respectful driving — both on and off the road. Together, we’re building a community that values awareness, education, and compassion, ensuring every journey is made with care.

💛 Let’s come together to celebrate Harrison’s legacy, honour those we’ve lost, and continue driving towards a safer, more respectful 4WD community.

🚗 Industry Participation

THPI is working closely with Moreton Bay Regional Council to use the main carpark for the event, ensuring a safe space for invited guests, displays, and community organisations.

We’re inviting expressions of interest from businesses across the 4x4 and camping industry who’d like to set up a marquee or vehicle display.

Spots are limited — don’t miss this opportunity to connect directly with 4WD owners, families, and community leaders at this meaningful event.

👉 To secure your display or discuss involvement: 📧 gwmtank4wdqldclub@gmail.com or to theharrisonpayneinitiative@gmail.com

🌭 Community BBQGT4CQ and THPI will also host a community BBQ, with all proceeds supporting THPI’s ongoing programs in road safety, 4WD education, and coastal awareness — while providing support to families affected by road and off-road trauma.

Let’s come together to celebrate Harrison’s legacy, strengthen our shared values, and keep driving towards a safer, more respectful 4WD community — on the blacktop, off-road, and along our beautiful beaches. 💛

The Harrison Payne Initiative is a Not-for-profit charity that aims to create change around Beach Safety, 4WD safety, and road safety whilst providing support for families who have experienced similar tragedies. We want to share our story at schools, beaches, online and in other spaces throughout the community to educate young people on the dangers of driving on the beach.  We want to share Harry’s story in a way that honours him and highlights the importance of driving responsibly and knowing when to speak up as a passenger.

We are fully registered with the Australian Government under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
