About the event

COMING SOON: The Harrison Payne 4WD Track — A Tribute & Reminder

We’re proud to share that the Ocean Beach Access Track on Bribie Island will soon be officially renamed the Harrison Payne 4WD Track — a dedication to Harrison “Harry” Payne, a young man whose passion for adventure and love of Bribie left an enduring mark.

The formal unveiling date is still being finalised, but we wanted to reach out early so everyone who cares can plan to join us.

What to expect:

  • A signage dedication ceremony & history board to tell the story behind the name

  • Speeches from the Payne family, local council & community representatives

  • Gathering of 4WD enthusiasts, families, local residents & supporters

Why this Matters:

Harry lost his life in a tragic 4WD crash on Woorim Beach in May 2021.

The renaming is not just a memorial — it’s a powerful reminder of the need for responsible driving, respect for our beaches, and awareness of the risks.

The Harrison Payne Initiative is a Not-for-profit charity that aims to create change around Beach Safety, 4WD safety, and road safety whilst providing support for families who have experienced similar tragedies. We want to share our story at schools, beaches, online and in other spaces throughout the community to educate young people on the dangers of driving on the beach.  We want to share Harry’s story in a way that honours him and highlights the importance of driving responsibly and knowing when to speak up as a passenger.

We are fully registered with the Australian Government under the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission.
